About the theatre
The history of Belarusian Republican Young People's Theatre was split by the Second World War: the first Young People's Theatre was opened in Minsk in 1931 and had existed till July, 1941. In 1956 the theatre has opened again, and in 2006 its fiftieth anniversary was officially marked. Despite the scale reconstruction begun in the end of 2008, theatre successfully goes on tour and shows the performances on different platforms in Minsk: the Republican palace of culture of trade unions (the Independence avenue, 25) and in the House of writer (Frunze street , 5). Reconstruction is planned to be finished by 2011, completely keeping shape of the architectural monument. On the account of creative collective of the theatre there is set of serious tour rounds and festival awards, in current repertoire there are twenty six performances; each season Young People's Theatre lets out not less than three premieres. Almost all of them are intended for family viewing. The creative status of collective is defined by the slogan «Our family theatre». Poster headings help to orient in performances - «My first performances» are intended for the smallest spectators from three till seven years; «Magic stories and fairy tales» for children who study in elementary grades of school and teenagers, rarely for the young man and girls; heading performances «Art to be the adult» collect spectators, whose age has reached 14 years, in certain cases – 18th years.
